1306991 Cold liquefied gas storage MESSER GRIESHEIM GmbH 14 April 1970 [26 April 1969] 17755/70 Heading F4P Methane vapour resulting from inflow of heat into a liquid methane storage container 1 is withdrawn at 2, compressed at 3 and passed via an open valve 5 through a heat exchanger 18 where it is warmed to about -40‹ C. by indirect heat exchange with a portion of the so warmed methane after compression in a compressor 8 forming part of a methane liquefaction circuit after which the compressed methane is warmed to ambient temperature at 12 and fed to a gas supply line 17. During filling of container 1 with liquid methane drawn from a liquefier 6 through a duct (not shown) gas leaving compressor 3 is warmed in liquefier 6 (valve 5 being closed), compressed at 8, cooled at 12 and returned through a line 13 to the liquefier 6 which latter is connected to the supply line 17 by a conduit (not shown).
