Wet scrubber purifies exhaust gases - removing sub-micron dust particles and unpleasant fumes with little pressure drop

Purificn. of polluted gases such as flue gases from industrial boilers, exhaust fumes from internal combustion enginers, etc., by passing the gas through a wet scrubbing contactor followed by a cyclone separator. Inside the cleaner casing, washing liq. is pulverised by a rotor which turns with, and coaxially within, a perforated drum. Polluted gas is drawn through the pulverised liq. in the drum by a fan which delivers gas into a cyclone while liq. is stopped by a spinning baffle throwing liq. centrifugally away from the entry mouth of the cylcone. Sub-micron particles about 0.25 mu can be removed. Press. drop is small and construction inexpensive and compact.
