Surgical stocking with elastomer warp threads - worked into larger numb-er of systems in thigh zone than in shank zone

Surgical stocking having warp threads of an elastomer material, e.g. natural rubber, is worked with a larger number of systems in the thigh zone than in the shank zone, and, in the zones of the different systems, peripheral length of the individual elastomer warp threads always decreases in an upwards direction. The stocking adapts readily to the shape of the leg.
