A safety barrier includes at least one cable of synthetic textile materials, wherein the cable is composed of a central core having parallel synthetic yarns individually encased in a flexible, insulating adhesive binder which is disposed in abutting concentric layers to form the core and which is encased in an outer protective layer of coated braid.
