Suspended components are removed from a liq. using a number of separators in a tank provided with sepn. passages. Separate flotation or sedimentation compartments are provided for each separator, the separators being arranged such that succesive outlets and inlets can be joined, or alternatively outlets can be joined and inlets can be joined. The separators are inclined to the horizontal plane. Alternate arrangements allow for changes in official regulations or liq. properties.
