Rolling mill control for curved sections - by curvature sensors for rolled stock controlling screwdown motion

Sections, profiled sheets or strips can be rolled with a curvature to increase their load bearing capacity by altering a part of the cross-sectional area as regards its wall thickness. Sensors are arranged immediately at the exit from the roll gap. They determine the actual curvature and the screwdown of the rolls is controlled by comparison with the desired curvature.
