Use of prolactin inhibitors - for treatment of nephropathies and chronic nephritis

The protection inhibitor is pref. 2-bromo-alpha-ergocryptine ergocornine, 9,10-dihydronorcornine of L-dopa and may be in the free state, or as an acid or basic addn salt. They increase the solubility of proteins (e.g. albumens and glubulins) in the urine, and relieve the symptoms of nephropathies and chronic nephritis. The prolactin inhibitors may be administered orally, parenterally or rectally, opt in combination with an antibiotic or sulphonamide, if a renal infection is also present.
