1379384 Sailing simulators SAIL TRAINER SERVICES Ltd 7 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 58771/70 Heading B7V A sailing simulator has helm and sail controls operable by a pupil to provide visual simulation of the steering movement of a sailing craft being sailed by the pupil in a supposed wind. The simulator has a co-ordinate generator 9 operable in response to a velocity signal from tiller circuit 3 which represents the supposed velocity of the craft and is dependent on the speed and direction of the supposed wind and the pupil's operation of the helm and sail controls. The co-ordinate generator also receives a direction signal from elements 1, 2, 5 which represents the supposed direction of travel of the craft and co-ordinate signals are generated through converters 21X and 21Y to represent the supposed positions of the sailing craft at different times. A plotting device in the form of pen carrier 26 responds to these co-ordinate signals to provide a visual record of the supposed tracks sailed by the pupil.
