autoclave for the manufacture of laminated glass

Method of forming laminated glass by sticking together sheets of glass and/or plastics with one or more layers of thermoplastics material by warm pressing in an autoclave wherein the warm pressed assemblage is subsequently cooled under pressure by immersion in a coolant liquid. The lower part of the autoclave is filled with cooling liquid. The warm pressing is carried out above the liquid for a short period by fluid pressure and the assembly is then lowered into the coolant at the same pressure. The process avoids heating and cooling of the whole autoclave with consequent saving of time and heat energy.
