Horizontal cylindrical large dia. tube furnaces, their cooling pipes and hot gas pipes are lined wiht ceramically, chemically or hydraulically bonded refractory bricks with the aid of magnetism. The tubes etc. are subdivided into alternate wide magnetic steel and narrow non magnetic steel rings and the magnetic sheet metal backed bricks are located on the i.d. of the pipe by magnetism due to a magnetic field which is applied.
