Compsns. contain penicillamine (I) or its acceptable salts and Na2EDTA and opt. =1 carriers etc. such as starch, mannitol, cellulose, CaCO3, PVP, gelatin, talc. vinyl pyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymer, Ca stearate, solid or liquid paraffins etc. They maybe given a coating soluble or insoluble in the gastric juices or they may be formulated as suppositories, creams opt. together with salcylamide.
