Resin-bonded acid-resistant aggregate pipe - contg. chemical coupling agent for good strength retention

Double-walled pipe system, suitable for exposure to chemically corrosive conditions, consists of an acid-resistant aggregate (I) (partly) bonded with a resin (II), with a (I)/(II) ratio not 12:1 (13-20:1) and also contains a chemical coupling agent (III) to bond (I) and (II). The strength and retention of strength after ageing (in the presence of moisture) are good, in spite of the low (II) content. Pref. (I) is (based on) quarts, (II) is a polyester of furan resin and (III) is gamma-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane or gamma-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and is used in an amt. of ca. 1.3 wt.% w.r.t. (II).
