The vanes run axially along the inside of the cylinder at a distance from the inner wall of 0.025-0.1 of the i/d and are joined to the inner wall by webs. The cylinder may be subdivided into compartments by a series of double transverse walls with openings whose size increases progressively along the cylinder in the direction of low and which are offset from the axis by an amt such that the contents of each chamber are 85-95% of the vol. of the last compartment or of the whole undivided cylinder being limited by a curved over flow pipe through a gland in the end wall. Crystal formation on the inner wall of the cylinder is avoided.
