A device for the aspiration of at low temperatures from a storage tank viscous media

Equipment for discharge from tanks of materials sticky and viscous at low temp. especially of oils from oil tanks, consisting of a heated discharge pipe designed as a dipleg with conical inlet held in position by a special flange with a packed sealing gland. Only the conical inlet and part of the dipleg is heated by a thermostat controlled electrical heating tape bringing only the oil being discharged to min. temp. required for pumping. The whole of the discharge pipe is insulated, wiring for the heating tape being embedded in the insulation. The inlet cone is provided with cross baffles to extend the heating surface area and also to reduce pressure loss and produce laminar oil flow.
