Surface scum treatment plant - esp for dewatering skimmed residue from sewage treatment tanks

The material skimmed from the sewage tanks is fed on a first conveyor to a buffer tank or onto a second conveyor transferring it to a second or further buffer tank parallel to the first. Each of these tanks has a base conveyor feeding the material to outlet chutes which in turn discharge onto a further cross conveyor passing over the feed inlet chutes of a number of press type dewatering units. Each of these has a discharge chute for the pressed partly dried material onto a third cross conveyor which in turn feeds delivery chutes to elevator conveyors on which the partly dried material is carried to wagon loading hoppers. Teh second and thrid cross plant conveyors may be driven in either direction. Individual elements may be closed down for cleaning and maintenance without closing down the whole plant. All conveyors and the transitions from them to the chutes are spray tight enclosed to reduce smell etc.
