Title cpds. have the formula (I) (where R1-R5 are H, Cl, alkyl or alkoxy; R1 is also NO2; at least one of R3,R4 is acylamino, opt. N-substd. carbamoyl, sulphamoyl or phthalimido; X is carbonyl or sulphonyl). They are prepd. by coupling the diazo cpds. of amines contg. the substituents R1-R5 with 2:6-dihydroxy-3-cyano-4-methylpyridine. Used for plasticsc, lacquers, melamine resins, printing inks.
