Forcing flowering of bush twigs - in autumn or winter by defoliation with herbicide and immersion in bactericidal solution

Lilac, forsythia or almond tree twigs are forced to bloom in late autum or winter. After the formation of the blossom buds at the respective vegetation cycle and prior to formation of the blossom suppressors in the leaves, the latter are removed mechanically or with a defoliating agent and the blossom is then forced by immersion of the twigs in a soln. of sugar and a bactericidal agent.
