Olefinically unsatd org isocyanates prepn - from carboxylic acid chlorides and organic silyl azides

The organic isocyanates are prepd. from the acid chloride with pref. =1 equiv. of silylazide at -20 degrees C to 160 degrees C. The isocyanates are used for the prepn. of plant protection and plastics and the process is esp. suitable for the prepn. of isocyanates with sensitive functional gps. e.g. olefinic and acetylenic multiple bonds.
