Raschel machine having a number of yarn guides for supplying weft yarns along the machine and a number of yarn inserting members diposed along both selvedges to hold the yarns and supply them to the needles on demand in which machine the guide and inserting members are mounted reciprocably in such a manner on inserting bars that the yarns are held continuously in readiness outside the operative range of the knitting needles.
