Cartridge oil filter for I.C. engine has inner perforated cardboard sleeve contg activated carbon surrounded by crimped paper element. The top and bottom of the cartridge have impervious cardboard ends but the centre at the base has a filter support backed by a perforated metal sheet as clean oil exit. Housing has two metal plates as cover, one with a rubber O-ring seal, held in position by a clip. When the clip is removed the upper plate is rotatable around an eccentric bolt and can be used to lever out the lower plate. Ao the cartridge has no retaining screws or strings, but is held in position by oil pressure, the whole can ben diomanted without use of tools.
