Universally applicable automatic hypodermic syringe may be designed as a projectile for use with a blowpipe or an air gun. The outlet of its cannula is closed with a seal of elastic material, easily pierced, so that on impact the injection zone is penetrated and the outlet which may not be at the point, but arranged laterally some distance back, possible behind a barb, is left free for the fluid to be expelled by an adequate source of pressure such as a spiral spring, a rubber pull, gas, chemicals releasing gas, etc.
