Vapour-plating porous bodies - heated locally to pyrolysis- or reaction- temp. of gaseous coating materials

Deposn. of mono- and poly-component materials in porous bodies by heat-conversion of gaseous cpds., which are led through porous body by means of a pressure gradient, takes place by heating porous body locally to the temp. required for pyrolysis or reaction and moving this heated zone, in which deposn. takes place, longitudinally w.r.t. porous body. Process is used for prodn. of light, high temp-resistant and rigid insulator, semi-conductors, wear-resistant working tools, temp-resistant filters, reinforcing and reinforced materials from powders, felts, foams, close-packed structures and stacks, lattices and skeins. During coating the porous body may be moved through a given temp. profile. Alternatively, temp. profile may be displaced over sample to be coated.
