Equipment for continuous liquid phase reactions - separate compartments in horizontal reactor with axial stirrer shaft carrying required agitators

Equipment for continuous liq. phase reactions, and its application for various chemical processes. A horizontal or slightly inclined reactor is divided in its lower half into a number of separate compartments by separating walls perpendicular to the reactor axis. The upper part is a common gas space for all compartments, and each compartment will contain 1 agitator arm located on a common shaft. The respective end compartments are for entry and exil. Individual compartments can be healed or cooled. Facilities for temperature or pH measurement are avaible. Particular suitability for sulphonation and nitration of aromatic compounds is suggested. Equipment gives favourable residence and throughput times in continuous operation, and gives good temperature control even when there is considerable heat release.
