The slide is fitted with a cover for the controls to determine the operation of the latch needles, the needle butts being raised or lowered by the triangular central needle trips and spring-mounted hinged needle sinker trips. The rotating needle selectros at each end can be replaced for pattern changes. The purpose is to allow a row to be knitted when the slide is moved in either direction, increasing the productivity of the knitter.
