An aircraft navigation system particularly for assisting an aircraft to land, employs a reference point on the ground which can be a transmitter, and a receiver on the aircraft, and an angular speed measuring device. When the axes of rotation of the angular speed measuring device and the receiver are parallel, the angular displacement of a sighting device, using selsyns, is a function of the angular speed of the device carrying the receiver, lining up on the transmitter. All the axes of rotation are parallel, their speeds being controlled. The sighting device is located at one edge of the aircraft, being constantly sighted on a beacon beyond the end of the landing pathM while the angular speed of the aircraft along a vertical plane is measured, the sighting device also rotating about a vertical plane.
