Rapid shut-off system for water cooled nuclear reactors

Multi-absorption bar installations fitted with a combined conrol in each case and which incorporate a mechanical drive for standard adjustment movements and a hydraulic rapid shut-off drive; the reactor includes equilibrium networks between the vessel under pressure and the hydraulic drive as well as pressure reserve tanks partially filled with hydraulic fluid above the level of which is located a compressed gas cushion; the tanks are fitted with level and pressure adjustment devices and are connected in branched groups each on a loop duct to each of which the hydraulic controls are connected by means of group retaining valves; the shut off system conforms to the main patent characterised in that the pressure tanks of each group feed a loop duct direct by at least two outlets each fitted with a fast-release valve.
