Plastic boat hulls - of composite skeletal and clad construction to avoid mould costs

A skeleton of plastic T, L or U-profiles is covered with a mesh, then lined with a cellular plastic material and then clad on both faces to obtain a complete hull. Pref. at least some of the cross frames also support a lined and clad mesh. PRef. the formers are 'T' sections with the upright oriented inwards and capped at joints by 'L' profiles around the deck boundary and a channel used face down for the keel member. Pref. the lining is an expanded PVC foam applied hot against the supporting mesh. Structure is self supporting during construction, suitable for complex hulls with the maximum beam below deck level. Monocoque construction gives high collision strength.
