Packages comprising a metal dish with a body or cover displaying print, and internally coated with a plastic material having sufficient flexibility and adhesion to tolerate subsequent forming of the coated metal. Pref. the support sheet is of aluminium or tinplate and the coating is a blend of at least two polyvinylacetochlorides dispersed in a ketonic or ester based solvent. The coating may be covered temporarily with protective paper during the subsequent forming. Esp. for packaging foodstuffs to be preserved by flash heating in air or steam. Trays may have heat sealed lids.
