Direction well blasting before hydraulic fracturing - by pressure peak of two explosive shock waves

The secondary recovery of petroleum by hydraulic fracturing of wells is much improved by blasting. Pairs of detonators are arranged between packs of explosives in such a way that two simultaneous explosions are triggered in two different planes. Where the shock waves meet, a pressure peak is built up which induces the formation of a fracture in the strata.
