A wear resistant material used to remetallise surfaces subjected to abrasion, consists of hard refractory particles contg. 7-30% Cr, 30-40% B, balance Ti, 0.3-2mm diameter, embedded in a metallic matrix and making up 40-80% of the volume fraction. It has high mechanical properties and is more economical to produce than alternative materials.
