The container is rectangular, and divided into two interconnecting compartments each containing part of the main canopy. The extractor parachute pulls the upper compartment from the container, allowing the lower part of the canopy to fill rapidly. A flap in the lower part of the upper compartment then opens, allowing the remainder of the main canopy to fill rapidly. This avoids the slow, peat shaped filling associated with large canopies, with its consequent serious loss of height.
