One of the ends of the chain is formed by articulated links while the other has the last two links welded together. To one of these is fixed the articulated clip which, in the closed position, rests on an opening in the other link. The curved end of the clip extends into the opening preventing a non-desirable disengagement of the links. the clip has a short extension which has a central aperture. This aperture passes over a locking stud on the second split link and prevents disengagement of the clip.
