Appts. for the evacuation of high buildings - uses endless chain travelling vertically and hooking harnesses at each floor

The vertical shaft (1) can be fixed to the interior or the exterior of the building and there are evacuation position (2), fitted with sliding doors (3), at each floor. The chain (4) is fitted at regular intervals with brackets (6) to which a hook (9) is articulated. This hook is formed of an upper and lower part which are closed by a safety catch which pivots on the upper part. A harness to support the evacuated person is automatically caught on this hook at the evacuation position on each floor and the person is lowered under their own weight and deposited automatically at ground level.
