These compounds, and also a dl-analogue thereof wherein R=RSP1/SP=RSP2/SP=Me, are prepared from the corresponding #SP9/SP-compounds by hydrogenation in the presence of Pd/BaSO 4 and HBr. dl - Trans - anti - 6 - [(3,5 - demethylisoxarol- 4 - yl)methyl] - 3a - methyl - 3,7 - dioxo - 1,2,3a,4- 5,7,8,9,9a,9b - decahydro - 3H - benz[e]indene and antecedents thereof are prepared as described in Specification 1,298,212. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1,298,218 and 1,298,212.
