The fluid may be a silicone, with a viscosity from 0À65 centistokes to 2À5 million centistokes, or a rubber gum. The ratio of the piston-cylinder clearance to the radius of the piston is 0À01 or less. At the initiation of the timing sequence, a plunger 32 biased by a spring 34 punctures a sealing boot 30 and engages the piston. The cylinder is internally stepped so that the piston descends more rapidly through the upper portion of the cylinder than through the lower portion.
