1343795 Axonometric drawing apparatus M SAUVAGEAU 1 July 1971 [13 July 1970] 30942/71 Heading B6P Drawing apparatus for producing axometric drawings from plan, side and end views comprises a guide rail 10 which is clamped to a drawing board 12 and which supports two further guide rails 16, all three forming three sides of a rectangle. A guide member 20 is pivotally and slidably supported on each guide rail. Each guide member 20 pivotally and slidably supports two arms 40 and 42 which respectively comprise a reference device and a tracing device. The two arms 40 and 42 are pivoted at 44, and the bisector of the included angle at pivot 44 is at right angles to the guide member 20. Once the included angle at pivot 44 is set, the other ends of arms 40 and 42 are clamped to a rod 54. This enables the arms to slide together along guide member 20, and allows them to pivot around the guide member 20 if it is of circular cross-section (Fig. 3). The guide member forms the "directrix". The terms "directrix", "reference device" and "tracing device" are defined in the Specification, and the method of operation fully described. In alternative embodiments, the reference and tracing devices (i.e. arms 40 and 42) are replaced by a single arm (70, Fig. 10) mounted to oscillate between a reference position and a tracing position. The single arm is pivoted on a supporting arm (72) which is movable along the guide member and perpendicular thereto.
