1463659 Polyoxyalkylene compounds AGFAGEVAERT 30 April 1974 [1 June 1973] 26250/73 Heading C3R [Also in Divisions G2 and C2] Polyoxyalkylene compounds have the formula RO(CH 2 CH 2 O) n (CO) m A wherein R is H, C 1-5 alkyl or -(CO) m A, n is at least 4 and m=0 or 1. A represents, when m=0, sulphoalkyl, carboxyalkyl or sulphoalkylcarbonylalkyl and when m= 1, carboxyalkyl, carboxyalkenyl, sulphoalkoxycarbonylalkyl, carboxyphenyl, sulphoalkoxycarbonylalkenyl, sulphophenyl or sulphoalkoxycarbonylphenyl; the aliphatic groups containing at most 4 carbon atoms and the carboxyl and sulpho groups being in acid or salt form. Examples of preferred compounds are when m is 1, A is carboxyphenyl or sulphophenyl and when m is 0, A is 3-sulphopropyl or 2- hydroxy-3-sulphopropyl.
