Ventilated structure for pig rearing - main stalls have adjacent low stalls for piglets

A piggery with air ventilation to remove odours without draughts, also has low stalls which act as refuges for piglets but give them access to the sow. Fresh air is blown in through trunking at ceiling level. Foul air is collected at floor level and exhausted through the trunking, also at ceiling level. Main stalls (6) for sows have low stalls (8) on one side (9) for piglets who have access (10) at floor level to sow, but bare prohibit her entry. Separate feed troughs are provided and there is a cover over each low stall.
