Bituminous foundation material for road making - contg. coal-contg. rock waste and asphalt bitumen

A bituminous road making material for use as base layer is produced by treating a coal-contg. rock waste from a coal-washing plant with a lump size up to 80 mm with =5 wt. % liq. asphalt-bitumen at room temp. and heating the product shortly before use. Due to its coal content (5-40 wt. %) the rock waste binds very effectively with the bitumen and can be used while moist. Base layers produced from the mixt. have high strength and good thermal insulating properties, allowing thinner base layers to be used.
