Petrol pump price recorder modification system - alters second stage gears to give one to one overall ratio

The system enables alterations to be made to the price recorder to take account of rising petrol prices with the minimum amount of parts replacement. Where the overall reduction ratio of the gear box is 10:1, produced by a first 4:1 stage and a second one of 4:1, the latter stage is converted to a 1:2.5 increasing stage, resulting in a 1:1 ratio overall. Thus only two gears need to be replaced. The system is installed in pumps, which have a KIENZLE (R.T. M) mechanism, and the modification is carried out by exchanging two gear wheels on intermediate vertical spindles which are fitted between the cash register and the base container.
