Cryogenic liquid storage vessels kept cold - e.g. after discharge of liquefied gas from tanker and during return voyage

Apparatus for keeping storage chambers, designed for cryogenic uses, cold, comprises containers for evaporating cryogenic liquid installed against, and pref. at regular intervals round the periphery of, the inner face of the storage chamber wall, with at least one opening near, but below the upper edge of the chamber. Solves the problem of keeping, e.g. ships tanks for liquefied gas, particularly natural gas, cold on the return journey after unloading the liquefied gas cargo, and gives more efficient cooling of the whole storage chamber than a cryogenic liquid in the bottom of this.
