Triazine derivs. of formula (I): (where X and Y are halogen, provided that X, Y is other than 3,4-Cl2), e.g. 2,4-diamino-6-(2,5-dichlorophenyl)-1,3,5-triazine, and their non-toxic acid addition salts are new cpds. (I) have high antipeptic activity against ulcers, coupled with low toxicity. (I) may be obtained by (a) reacting a corresponding dihalobenzonitrile with dicyandiamide or (b) reacting a dihalobenzoic acid or functional deriv. thereof with biguanide. (I) may also be obtained e.g. by reacting a 2,4-dichloro-6-(dihalophenyl)-1,3,5-triazine with ammonia.
