Display panel (10) consisting of hermetically sealed enclosure formed by a baseplate (20) and a coverplate (100). The panel manufacturing stages consists of the following. The formation of a hole (33) in the baseplate, hermetically sealing the baseplate and the coverplate along the circumference, and processing the atmosphere in the enclosed space via the hole, which is then hermetically sealed. This is done by smelting a glass sphere (130) placed in the hole. The groups of electrodes and this terminal conductors (30) are formed on the baseplate. When the coverplate is fitted and the sealing material applied, the whole unit is placed in a furnace.
