1284192 Indomethacin suppositories MERCK & CO Inc 2 Oct 1970 [9 June 1970] 47028/70 Heading A5B Suppositories comprising a dosage unit amount of indomethacin in a base comprising a polyethylene glycol or a mixture of polyethylene glycols and from about 4 to 12% by weight of glycerol are prepared by adding the glycerol to a molten polyethylene glycol base containing indomethacin, subdividing into suppository doses and allowing the molten mixture to congeal. Preferably the molten base is prepared at 65‹C, and allowed to congeal at 5‹C. The polyethylene glycol may be polyethylene glycol 4000 and/or polyethylene glycol 6000.
