1489943 Conveying and orientating cigarette packets GD SpA 16 April 1975 [17 April 1974] 15624/75 Heading B8A Freshly glued cigarette packets fed from a drum 1 of a packaging machine are displaced by a pusher P together with a column of preceding packets into engagement with opposed conveyer belts 7, 8, by means of which the packets arrive on a higher speed conveyer belt 20. At the upstream end of the latter, they are also engaged by a conveyer belt 23, and by the periphery of a wheel 30 carried by a pivotally mounted arm 31. The packet engaging the wheel 30 is thereby turned about a vertical axis and into a position in which a sealing strip or state revenue stamp (Figs. 1-8, not shown) may be applied. When the wheel 30 is deflected, a microswitch 36 is thereby operated to halt the feed of the packets.
