Method of regulating the heat transfer between a heat generating and a heat absorbing unit. At least one heat sensitive element is fitted at the point of contact between heat generating and heat absorbing units which is deformed when reaching a pre-determined temperature so that under the action of this deformation the heat absorbing unit is removed from the heat generating unit. The heat sensitive element are shaped like a tin and are filled with a medium which increases it's volume under heat; they are enclosed by a membrane which under pressure from the heated medium curves outwards lifting the heat absorbing unit such as a cooking utensil from the heat source.
