Lapping machine for spiral and hypoid conical gears - in which both gears engage, and oscillations are imparted to one of the rotating gears

The machine has one spindle head on which the driven gear is mounted and a second head which carries the driving gear. Both gears are to be lapped. A vibrator imparts triaxial oscillations to one of the spindles. The vibrator uses three sets of curves and three rams which are arranged parallel to one another. The rams connect at one end with the curve and at the other end kinematically with the spindle. Each curve can be adjusted independently along the geometric axis of the ram which works with it. All rams are arranged on a sliding piece which carries out a to and fro movement in a direction at right angles to the ram axis. The oscillations of the drive spindle can be adjusted to have different starting points for left or right tooth flanks.
