Continuous spectrophotometric analysis of the eluate leaving a chromatographic column. Photo-electric signals arising from an inertia-free display are automatically evaluated to identify those which correspond best with reference elution curves. Analysis proceeds simultaneously on several selected wavelengths, signals for absorbed wavelengths, being matched automatically with reference signals. Partly separated as well as separated substances can be identified and frequently quantified at great speeds.
