The purpose is to provide, at low cost and with max. flexibility, means of controlling air flow within the room's own air-conditioning system, regardless of the distance from the central plant. The mechanism (22) maintains constant air pressure in the chamber (10) through which the air passes, in front of the outlet apertures (20), and incorporates an actual level transmitting device (24), a desired level indicator (32) and a mechanism for comparing these levels (36), acting independently on a throttle organ (26) for a long enough period, in the event of a discrepancy, for the desired level to be attained. The chamber has one or more attachment openings (9) for joining to an air supply mechanism, pref. on two opposite sides. The throttling organ may be a rotary slide of foil material.
