The grab is for use on a vehicle handling materials on a building site etc. and is equipped with grille sections, some of which at least consist of top and bottom halves. These pivot in relation to each other as desired, and can be locked together to form a complete grille accommodating material in the grab. They can open at the top by foling about an axis near the lower edge of the complete grille which they form. They can open at the bottom by pivoting about an upper spindle near the top edge and on fixed columns. Alternately they can open in the middle, detaching from each other, the top and bottom halves pivoting respectively about the top and bottom spindles.
